John Burke, Global Head of Fidante Partners
John became Global Head of Fidante Partners in February 2020. Previously he was Co-Head of Challenger Investment Solutions, a business which he started in 2015. Before this, John was a Director at Deutsche Bank Australia providing derivative solutions to superannuation and insurance clients. John has gained extensive global experience during his 25 years in the industry, having been an Investment Specialist with AllianceBernstein with responsibilities across Asia and a Partner with Mercer Investment Consulting working with clients in the UK and mainland Europe.
John is a CFA charterholder and studied at St Andrews University in Scotland where he completed a joint Master’s Degree in Economics and Modern History.
Christine Craig, Head of Risk and Compliance
Christine is the Head of Compliance for Challenger’s funds management businesses.
Christine joined Challenger in 2018. She has 20+ years experience in risk and compliance in both consulting roles and Head of Risk and Compliance roles within the financial services industries in Australia and the UK. She has worked for more than 25 years in financial services predominantly working with investment, insurance and superannuation businesses including Prudential, NAB, EY, Suncorp Life, Tyndall, CoverMore and IOOF, before joining Challenger.
Christine is a Scottish Chartered Accountant with an honours degree in Law, Economics and Accounting. She is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
John O'Keeffe, Head of Strategy and Development
John is Head of Strategy and Development and is responsible for originating new boutique relationships as well as strategic initiatives. Prior to Challenger, John worked in the Debt & Alternatives team at the Future Fund, Australia’s Sovereign Wealth Fund, that was responsible for third party manager selection and implementing the Future Fund’s fixed income, credit and hedge fund programs. John has a Masters of Applied Finance and is Chartered Accountant and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst.
Michael Clarke, General Manager, Institutional and Offshore Distribution
Michael Clarke joined Challenger in June 2013 as General Manager, Institutional Business and Strategic Alliances bringing over 25 years of experience in funds management, both in Australia and overseas.
Prior to joining Challenger, Michael was head of Russell Investments' institutional business in Australia.
Previously, Michael was Director, International Business at AMP Capital Investors. Based in Sydney, Michael joined AMP Capital in 2004 and led the AMP Capital international expansion strategy including responsibility for over $18 billion dollars of funds under management and the establishment and development of key international offices, including Beijing, Tokyo and Singapore.
Prior to joining AMP Capital, Michael spent six years as CEO and CIO of Goldman Sachs JBWere Asset Management. Based in Melbourne, the primary focus of the role was to establish Goldman Sachs JBWere as a leading player in the Australian retail and institutional funds management industry. Funds under management grew from $1 billion to over $5 billion during this period. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs JB Were, Michael spent two years as CIO at Equitilink and nine years with Macquarie Bank, largely in Macquarie Investment Management, both in Sydney and Asia.
Michael Kolikias, Head of Retail Sales and Marketing
Michael is the Head of Retail Sales and Marketing at Fidante Partners in Australia, responsible for the distribution and marketing of our multi-boutique funds management business. Michael leads the distribution and marketing strategy across wholesale markets including major banks, independent advice, High Net Worth, and Broker channels including the recently launched ActiveX business. Michael joined Challenger in August 2012 bringing over 20 years of experience in financial services, as National Key Account Manager across the life and funds management businesses.
Prior to joining Challenger, Michael was National Sales Manager at ANZ Wealth for three years responsible for distributing wholesale funds into internal and external advice networks. Previously Michael was a Senior Sales Executive at Macquarie Bank responsible for distributing derivative and investment solutions to wholesale markets and began his career at the ASX.
Michael has a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney and post graduate studies from FINSIA with a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment.
Naomi Cunningham, Head of Product, Projects and Business Management
Naomi is Head of Product, Projects and Business Management for Challenger Funds Management. Naomi leads multiple teams across Fidante and the broader Funds Management business that support the growth and success of our platform through product development, product life-cycle management, business management support to Fidante’s boutique fund managers and overseeing the delivery of multiple projects across the FM Business Unit.
Naomi joined the product team at Challenger in 2007 and has built her career at Challenger. Prior to joining Challenger, Naomi worked at BT Financial Group in client service and product roles. Naomi has a Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of International Studies from University of Technology Sydney and post graduate studies from FINSIA with a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment.
