Nick Hamilton, General Manager - AUS
Prior to joining Fidante in 2015, Nick was based in London. Nick left Australia in 2000 after working as an analyst in the international equities team at Rothschild. From London and Denver Nick worked for Reuters, Invesco Perpetual and most latterly Woodford Investment Management. At Reuters, Nick was responsible for designing portfolio analytics for their global funds management research business. At Invesco Perpetual, Nick was Product Director (Investment Specialist) for the UK Equities Team from 2003 to 2006.
Following that, Nick was appointed Head of International Products for Invesco Perpetual from 2006-2013, responsible for building the global equity and latterly multi-asset investment and product offering that is now marketed globally by Invesco.
Following a brief return to Australia in 2013, Nick was brought back to the UK as Partner & COO for Woodford Investment Management, a UK based fund management business. Nick returned to Australia in late 2015 to commence with Fidante as Head of Product and Marketing.
James Munce, Chief Operating Officer - UK
Prior to joining Fidante in 2017, James worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML) for ten years where he built out the Merrill Lynch Investment Solutions (MLIS) Alternative UCITS Platform which grew to USD 6.5bn and over 20 third party managers.
James sat on the Board of MLIS and was appointed CEO of its management company. James was primarily responsible for building out the operating, risk and compliance infrastructure of the platform and ensuring the infrastructure evolved with the changing regulatory landscape. The managers on the platform covered all liquid alternative asset classes.
Prior to joining BAML James trained as a chartered accountant with PwC auditing hedge funds and private equity funds.
Gihan Ismail, Head of Strategic Partnerships - UK
Gihan is responsible for the business development of the Fidante boutiques outside of Australia. She has 25 years’ experience in the financial services sector.
Prior to joining Fidante, Gihan spent 14 years in investment consulting at Hewitt Associates (now Aon Hewitt), where she held several senior roles including Head of Continental European Investment Consulting, Head of Investment Manager Research and Chair of the UK Investment Policy (asset allocation) Committee. In 2011, together with two other partners, she set up a boutique consulting firm, which advised asset managers on issues ranging from business strategy to investment performance issues. Gihan subsequently joined a boutique asset manager, Marine Capital Limited as a shareholder where she worked closely with the CEO/CIO on all commercial and investment aspects including the development of investment strategies and the firm’s research function, deal analysis, and internal and external business development. Until June 2018 Gihan sat on the board of Robeco Institutional Asset Management in the capacity of non-executive director.
